New Year’s Resolution Planner Stickers Part #1
December 27th, 2017 • Contributor: Cori George from Hey, Let's Make Stuff
Happy almost-New Year, Cricut friends! It’s Cori from Hey, Let’s Make Stuff back with another fun tutorial, plus I have a free download for you!
Can you believe we’re already heading into 2018 this week? The new year brings one particular exciting change for many people—a new planner! There’s something so inspiring about cracking open the fresh pages of a planner. So many possibilities exist on those blank pages!
If you’re a planner person, there’s a good chance you’re also a New Year’s resolution person. I always love the fresh new start the new year brings, along with the challenge of completing a New Year’s resolution. Maybe you want to practice a new skill once daily, work out three times a week, or make your bed every morning.
If this sounds like you, you’re going to love this two-part post on planner stickers! Today I’m going to share a free download with you, plus design some easy flag stickers in Cricut Design Space. Then tomorrow we’ll talk about actually cutting them using your Cricut!
First, a fun freebie! You can download these colorful planner sticker sheets, one for each of my New Year’s resolutions—drinking eight glasses of water a day and hitting 10,000 steps a day on my fitness tracker. I’ve also included a coordinating blank tracker—you can just write in your own resolution and start tracking! You can even use the Cricut Pen to write for you!
There’s something so satisfying about checking off boxes, as well as knowing that the more often you do something, the easier it is to make it a habit!

If these stickers aren’t quite for you, you can find so many other options in Cricut Design Space! You can head over to the Ready to Make section (click Projects in the canvas sidebar) and see quite a few ideas to get you think about planner layouts and stickers.
You can also search in Cricut Access for “planner” and find tons of cool ideas. You can even design your own stickers from scratch, like these star flags using simple shapes.
1: Start With Squares

Start by drawing a square. Then click the lock in the bottom left and change the dimensions to 2” x .5” (or whatever dimension you would like!) in the top toolbar.
Then draw a second square and rotate it 45 degrees using the rotate tool in the top toolbar.

Then place the rotated square over the end of the rectangle.

You can use the Center Vertically option in the drop-down to make sure they are aligned properly.
2: Create a Banner by Slicing

Select both shapes and click “Slice” in the bottom right sidebar. This slices your shape into four separate pieces. You can delete everything but the flag on the left.
3: Add Stars and Change Colors

Then add a star to your flag, using the Center Vertically option again to make sure they are aligned. And then change the colors to whatever you’d like! I made these match the other files I designed.
Then, select everything and hit “Flatten” in the bottom right sidebar. This will turn your shapes into a Print Then Cut file and you’re ready to make your stickers! You can, of course, duplicate your flags to make as many as you need.
Tomorrow we’ll talk about how to actually take my files you downloaded and these flags we designed and make stickers using the Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker!
