This easy skeleton costume can take as little as 30 minutes to make happen.

The Skeleton costume made its way into Halloween hall of fame well before that classic scene in Karate Kid where Johnny Lawrence and the boys chase Daniel around at the school dance. In fact, Time wrote a piece on the history of skeletal fascination. There’s a timeline from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) on the skeleton suit (not at all to be confused with a costume), which sheds a little light on how the skeleton even influenced high fashion.

It should come to no surprise, then, that skeleton and skull images are pretty popular in Cricut Design Space. Combined, these two Design Space search terms result in more than 2,100 images. We also have some fun and easy ready-to-make projects for you to check out.

If you’re a fan of this classic costume, it comes as a DIY in Design Space too. While we put some basic supplies in the list below, try adding some embellishments or use different colors to make it your own. Plus, we included a link for some glow in the dark iron-on for a costume that really shines.

Author’s note: If you’re a frequent reader, you know we love our puns. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel like there were many that really fit the story. Sorry about that. Not being able to deliver the haha’s really gets under our skin! ? ☠️
