5 Last-Minute Gift Ideas Using Your Cricut

July 14, 2017 • Contributor: Jenny Alger from Everyday Jenny

Hello! Jenny from here. If you are anything like me, life gets busy and you look at your calendar and realize you have a birthday, anniversary or some other special occasion coming up and you don’t have a gift. Or maybe you are just going to a dinner with friends and don’t want to show up empty-handed.

There are so many ways to make a gift in no time at all with your Cricut Explore. Small touches make your gift more thoughtful and special. Here is a list to get you started.

Bath Bomb Tags

A bath bomb is a great gift for someone who needs some relaxation in his or her life (who doesn’t?) Either make your own bath bomb at home or buy one at the store, then add this cute free printable tag from the Frog Prince Paperie. Use the Cricut print and cut feature to cut them out. Voilà, a beautiful gift!

Succulent Planter

Fake and real succulents are all the rage right now. Grab one or two at your local store, and then put them in these cute diamond planters. Your friend will be so impressed you made your own planter!

Recipe Card Gift Tags

Sharing a favorite recipe is always a fun gift idea. Print off these cute recipe card tags that are already done for you as a Make it Now Project in Design Space.  Tie them around a mason jar filled with the recipe ingredients and you have an awesome gift.

Etched Wine Bottles

A bottle of your favorite wine (or sparkling cider) is always a nice gift, but why not make it even better? Use your Cricut to make a personalized stencil and etch a design into the bottle for a special touch.

Gift Card Holder

Last, but not least, sometimes when you can’t think of anything else a gift card makes a great gift.  You can whip up a gift card holder in no time. These awesome new deluxe paper designs are available on I used the Natalie Malan Divine Peonies Deluxe Paper.

Which of these gift ideas is your favorite? Be sure to tell me in the comments below. And don’t forget to share the gifts you make on social media with #CricutMade. Happy Gifting!

    • Outdoor vinyl will last longer and will be safe in most dishwashers. Some could get hot enough to mess up the vinyl, so for best results, you may want to just handwash them every time. It also helps if you let your newly decorated mug sit for at least a day before use so that it has time to firmly adhere to the mug.
As for microwaves, I would advise not putting them in there as it can potentially cause problems with the vinyl.

  1. Can I download shapes for my cricut air 2 so that I can make appliques for the quilts that I make?

    • Yes, you can upload different shapes as needed (if different than the ones already in Design Space) to cut out your appliques.
