Hi crafty friends! Jenny from Everyday Jenny here, and today I’m sharing a tutorial using the Cricut Cuttlebug.

Party favors with a Cricut Cuttlebug

Party favors are an important part of any party. If you are like me, then you want them to look perfect and by using your Cuttlebug you can add that special extra touch.

1: Cut Materials

Cut out your materials

First, you will cut out your party favors using your Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker machine. Here is a link to the Design Space file. Each favor has four parts.

  • Neutral party bag
  • Gold flower made with honeycomb paper
  • Gold glitter center
  • Gold glitter piece for the leaves 3”X4” (not pictured)

2: Emboss Your Party Favor Bag

Use the Cuttlebug on your bags

To emboss your bag, place the folded bag inside your honeycomb embossing folder.

Emboss the bags

You will stack your plates and bag in this order from bottom to top:

  • Spacer Plate A
  • Spacer Plate B
  • Party bag inside embossing folder
  • Spacer Plate B

3: Die Cut Your Leaves

Cut out your leaves

To die cut the leaves, place the glitter paper and the plates stacked in this order from bottom to top:

  • Spacer Plate A
  • Embossing Mat
  • Spacer Plate B
  • Foliage die cut side up
  • Glitter paper, face down
  • Spacer Plate B

Then carefully run your whole stack of plates through the Cuttlebug machine. Carefully remove the excess paper but do not remove the material from the die.

4: Emboss Your Leaves

5: Assemble the Flower

Put the flower together

Using your hot glue gun glue the petal tab to the petal next to it and secure the gold glitter circle inside the flower.

6: Assemble the Party Favor

Put your party favor together

Now that everything is embossed and cut out, you are ready to assemble your party favors.

Put your party favor together

Place your bag of treats in the center of the bag and pull through the back. Place a dot of hot glue on the top and press the front and back of the bag together.

Put your party favor together

Glue the flower and the leaves to the top of the bag. Repeat with the remaining party favors. Now you are done! These party favors look so cute embossed and with the added die cut foliage. I think these Make It Now party favors  would also be fun to emboss with the Cuttlebug.

Which embossing folders do you love to use with your Cuttlebug?

  2. Thank you! These are so cute, I’m going to make these for the school office ladies and also use at each place setting for Thanksgiving.
