Meet the Maker: Anna Griffin Anna’s Fantastic Flips

December 7, 2016 • Contributor: Scarlet Letters Copywriting

We feel that any article featuring the incomparable Anna Griffin is exciting. But, this month, we’re really giving you reason to flip out!

Welcome to Cricut’s first–ever Anna Griffin sneak peek. We are thrilled to offer this initial look at projects made with Anna’s Fantastic Flips Card Making Cartridge. It won’t be available to purchase until early next year, but you can say you saw it first here.

You may have admired Anna’s incredible flip-card creations that were made using the Cuttlebug®, and now, she’s taking the making to a whole new level for Cricut Explore users.

Anna, tell us why you love this cartridge so much.
I love it because it offers you the most amount of impact with the least amount of effort.  It’s flipping fantastic! Take a look at this quick video, and you’ll see what I mean:

The cards really do flip! Tell us how people at home can make one.
All you need is your Cricut, Anna’s Fantastic Flips Card Making Cartridge, a scoring stylus and your personal printer to make these 3-D cards that actually flip.

We patterned this digital cartridge off the success of Anna Griffin Fantastic Flips Card Making Kit with Cutting Dies set.  That was a huge hit, and users wanted the opportunity to do more. We love to do what people ask of us!

One way to personalize these flip cards is to include two photos, such as “before” and “after” shots, or “kindergarten” and “high school senior” class photos. The possibilities are endless with this great mechanism, which is really the key to the card.

When can we get one?
Starting January 10, it will be available exclusively through HSN.  Later in the year, you’ll find it at other retailers, including Cricut.com.

What will the set include?
It’s a digital cartridge, so you’ll receive a card with a code that entitles you to the artwork. It won’t be coming in a box, which means less packaging and less waste.

The cartridge has 10 different styles of flip cards—versus the two styles that were in the last set. Included are the three that I’m sharing with you today.

We can’t wait any longer! Let’s take a look.

Blue Card

These exquisite cards are die cut in just the right place. You’ll need to make a counter-intuitive “mountain and valley” fold, which will result in a fantastic flip.

Do you have any embellishment tips you can share with us?
I sure do. When it comes to the embellishments, just decorate around the frame. And, if you’re using adhesive, place it on the card itself rather than the embellishment—that way, your creation won’t be glued closed!

Thank you so much, Anna. Do you have any final thoughts for us as we eagerly await this Fantastic Flips cartridge
Yes! Remember that when it comes to card making, you don’t want it to be labor intensive—you want it to be fun! Anna’s Fantastic Flips Card Making Cartridge and the Cricut are the perfect combination of fun and creativity.
