For every maker that makes, we’ll donate
It likely goes without saying that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month – an opportunity to pause for a cause, break out the pink, but most importantly, reflect on the staggering fact: 1 in 8 US women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Let’s be clear: A cure could not come sooner.
This month at Cricut, we’ve decided to harness our passion for crafting for a higher purpose – to come together as a community and encourage the fighters, support our survivors, and remember the women and men we’ve lost.
Every day the Cricut Community rallies to support one another through all of life’s challenges. We lean on one another when we need love, support and encouragement. One of our own, Jennie S., experienced this first-hand. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 40. Today, Jennie is in total remission and she credits her incredible support system for helping her get through it.
Jennie’s story represents just one of hundreds of women in our greater Cricut crafting community. We see so many of you out there, showing support in the form of personalized T-shirts for the hometown race or a special sign for a best friend who is facing chemo. We’re humbled and so proud to be part of a circle that supports and inspires in beautiful and colorful ways. And our hope this October is to help make what you already do, do even more in the fight against breast cancer!
Keep crushing it, Julie P.
This October, we will donate up to $60,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the sales of our products and the use of breast cancer awareness artwork. The mission of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is to advance the world's most promising research to eradicate cancer, with 90% of donated funds going directly to medical research. We’ve made sure all breast cancer awareness artwork in Design Space® is free for the month of October, so go ahead – make your heart out.
As a part of Cricut's overall donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, we have agreed to donate when Cricut members create using the breast cancer awareness artwork in Design Space in a project. Here’s how it works:
- Choose applicable Design Space artwork.
- Make a project using that artwork.
- We’ll donate $1 per crafter using the artwork, up to $25,000!
- Don’t forget to share what you’ve made on social media and tag us using @OfficialCricut on Facebook or Instagram.
In addition, we'll also donate $10–25 for every breast cancer awareness product bundle sold only on cricut.com, up to $35,000.
Remember, when we all make together, we make all things possible – including finding a cure for breast cancer.
