Summer Bucket List Week 2

June 13, 2016 • Contributor: Caitlin Jolley, Cricut

Snow cones and popcorn and s’mores—oh my! One of the VERY best parts of summer is all of the delicious treats that come along with it. This week’s summer bucket list is all about getting your grub on!

  1. HAVE A LEGIT PICNIC
Summer is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy a carefree dinner in the park, at the beach, or in the mountains. We’ve got everything you need to add some style to your picnic with these easy Make It Now projects in Design Space!

  1. DRINK FROM A COCONUT
Planning a summer party, or just want to chill out with family and friends at a Sunday barbecue? What you need for the perfect gathering on a sunny summer day is an ice-cold drink! And, why not add tropical fun by serving it in a coconut? The Lovely Chaos has the cutest how-to here.

  1. HAVE A WATERMELON SEED SPITTING CONTEST
Think spitting is gross? Well, don’t knock it ‘til you try it! Get lots of inspiration for a full watermelon day from Primarily Speaking and and enjoy this FREE printable HERE.

  1. BAKE WITH FRESH PEACHES
Nothing says summer quite like juicy, fresh peaches! Whether it’s a pie, cobbler, or crumble, make something with peaches this week.
Here are our favorite peach recipes from the queen, Martha Stewart, with everything from grilled peach pizza with prosciutto to peach custard pie. Drool
  1. VISIT YOUR FARMERS MARKET
Speaking of fresh peaches! One of the best things about summer is the delicious and healthy produce, and there’s no better way to purchase it than at a farmers market. While you enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, you can mingle with neighbors while supporting local farms and businesses. Check out our post on how to be a farmers market fashionista!

  1. MAKE YOUR OWN POPSICLES
Freeze! Now back away from that box of same-old, sugary pops. These delicious homemade popsicle recipes from Real Simple prove that it’s easy—and cool—to be different.

  1. EAT BREAKFAST FOR DINNER
One of our favorite ways to avoid the oven in the summer is making breakfast for dinner! We are DROOLING over these breakfast-for-dinner game changers from Buzzfeed. Seriously, we are making #3 tonight.
  1. TRY A WILD ICE CREAM FLAVOR We love classic vanilla and chocolate ice cream, but the Cricut Summer Bucket List is all about getting out of your comfort zone. This week, mix it up with an adventurous new flavor. PJK’s Creamery is sure to inspire your taste buds with flavors like Abuelita Chocolate Ice Cream with Amour Spreads orange habanero marmalade swirl and jalapeno pepita brittle crunch, La Barba Coffee Ice Cream with Kahlua caramel ribbon and fig/almond crumble and Peach Ice Cream with a High West Whiskey toffee swirl and chipotle-toasted pecans—yum!

And while we’re talking ice cream, check out these adorable Make It Now projects in Design Space.

Do you feel it, too? The longing to be outdoors, with cool grass or warm sand between your toes and the unmistakable smell of sunblock in the air? Yes, summer’s almost here and we at Cricut couldn’t be more excited!

To celebrate the season, we’re launching an exciting, new program: the Summer Bucket List. Beginning with the first Monday in June, we’ll be posting weekly segments that embrace different summer themes: getting your tootsies ready for sandals, building the perfect playlist, diving into Shark Week. You get the idea!

Whether you’re a crafter or not, we hope you take the leap with us and join in the festivities. We’re planning to take social media by storm, so follow us on Instagram http://www.instagram.com/OfficialCricut, Twitter http://twitter.com/OfficialCricut and Facebook http://www.facebook.com/OfficialCricut.

And don’t forget to tag your friends! Let the world know your favorite activities for this time of year… even if they don’t involve a Cricut. All summer long, we’ll be sharing fun ways to brighten your days. Oh, and did we mention that there will be weekly PRIZES?
